Having the entire crowd rushing you with a sped up 10 second count can be daunting and can cause more problems on top of the existing ones that Giannis already has at the line.
However, despite all the shooting woes, and despite all the criticisms, he’s not too worried about it and even laughs it off. What up everybody, my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it.
Antetokounmpo shot 68.5% on free throws during the season, which is bad in itself, but throughout the playoffs he’s gone down to 55.1% and a bunch of them have been extremely bad misses as you can see.
And the whole thing has turned into a debacle with his 4 and a half minute routine at the foul line, which has now culminated with the Nets and now Hawks fans counting before every single free throw.
Now that kind of pressure can be demoralizing and extremely frustrating, but part of the reason why I’m making this video is to show you that Giannis is being incredibly cool about it.
During a Bucks shootaround before game 2 he was the star of the show making the whole team laugh about his famous free throw line struggles. And honestly, I love the attitude. Take a look.
Again, you cannot hate on this. The fact that he takes all of it in stride and has fun with it, plus his accent makes this entire monologue that much funnier.
This is one area where the greek freak is a lot different than Ben Simmons. He doesn’t shy away from shooting the ball. Even from outside. And although he’s being criticized for it, Antetokounmpo is adamant that he needs to stay aggressive and try to make a good decision every single possession.
Sometimes, as strange as it sounds, the right decision is shooting the three.
Anyway, a big reason for why Milwaukee won game 3 is the fact that they do have a good shooter on the team. Did I say good? I meant deadly, lethal.
Khris Middleton was so hot that he actually outscored the entire Atlanta Hawks in the 4th quarter. 20-17. Talk about being blazing hot. Look at some of these. This is straight up video game mode.
He ended up with 38, 11 and 7 on 58% shooting. A clutch performance by Khris.
I found it interesting how deep Giannis got in his postgame interview, talking about his teammate. Check out what he said.
So yeah, Milwaukee pulled it off and won a tough game 3, and now have a chance for a commanding 3-1 lead in the series. I feel like the teams know each other well and everything is exposed, so now it all comes down to execution and making shots.
And although that’s a big topic of discussion with Giannis, you see that he’s not feeling any pressure, and Bucks fans have to love that winning attitude.
That’s it for now, subscribe and talk to you in the next one. Peace out.
